Car Insurance Kia (Car Insurance). I have 3 JL audio subs 13 inch what would be a good amp to run all of them off.?I have 3 JL audio subs 13 inch what would be a good amp to run all of them off.? So i have 3 JL audio 13 inch w1v2 subs in the same box going all out at teh same input. I'm thinkin about buying this kicker 1000.1 mono amp and i was wondering would that be good to power them three i just need help cause i want a booming system and i know them jls will hit on the right amp. thanks for reading this. this cannot be answered correctly without more info info needed to PROPERLY match amps and subs the subs voice coil setup (DVC or SVC) the subs impedance (ohms) the final impedance at the amp (how the subs are wired) the number of subs the subs RMS (continuous) wattage or the model numbers The kicker zx 1000.1 will give you enough power, given at 2 ohms it produces 1000w respectively. while the kicker dx 1000.1 will only give you about 550w at 2 ohms, but is 1 ohm stable producing 1000w. I would prefer the zx1000.1 because it ohm load is more practical and gives you room to play if you want to add a sub or change out all 3 someday. Kenwood KAC-9104D 1800-Watt Max Power 1 ohm Capability Class D Mono Power Amplifier with Variable LPF is amazing. With the gain over 3/4, it is TOO POWERFUL for any kind of conversation in my 08 Civic. I also bought a 1 Farad capacitor, because my headlights were dimming. This amp has not cut out once, even in near 100 degree heat and bumpin'. I recommend this amp because of it's flawless performance, light price, active cooling, and heavy hitting power. I am very impressed with this amp. Auto parts : Tow Bar Adapter Acura 1995 . Tow Bar Bracket Alfa Romeo 1996 . Tow Chain Audi 1997 . Tow Hook BMW 1998 . Tow Rope Buick 1999 . Kia . How to Troubleshoot Electric StartersThere's a range of reasons as to why a car won't start --- from the alternator not producing enough voltage to keep the battery charged to loose wiring and faulty equipment. You don't have to take your vehicle to a garage to figure out the cause of the problem. Through deduction, you can determine what part of the engine is causing the electric starter to fail, then replace the part on your own. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Voltage meter Step by Step : 1 Turn on the headlights to see if the battery needs to be charged. Sometimes the starter cannot function properly because it is not getting enough voltage to start the engine. If the headlights are bright and look as they usually do, then the battery should be charging fine. If the lights are dim, take a voltmeter and touch it to the terminals of the battery: negative lead to the negative side, positive lead to the positive side. If it reads approximately 12.5 volts, the battery is fine. If it reads 11.8 or fewer volts, then the battery is dead and you need to charge it. 2 Check the ignition switch. If the headlights dim when you turn the key to start the car, then the ignition switch should be functioning. If the lights do not dim when you turn the key, then problem is with the ignition switch. Use your vehicle's manual to locate the solenoid and ignition switch on the underside of the car, then disconnect the ignition switch wire from the solenoid and take the voltmeter to do a reading. Ground the negative lead to the engine mount and place the positive lead onto the wire. Then have a helper turn the key in the ignition. If it reads 12 volts, then it is fine. If it does not, then either the ignition switch needs to be replaced or there is a problem in the wiring, such as the battery cables. Check the wiring to make sure that nothing else has been disconnected. If something has, then reconnect it and take another reading. If the wiring isn't the problem, you have to replace the ignition switch. If there is no problem with the ignition switch, see step 3. 3 Check the solenoid. The solenoid has two metal posts for electrical connectors. The one on the right will have a short heavy braided wire running out of it that connects to the starter motor. Take the positive lead of the voltmeter and shove it into the wire, taking care to ground the negative lead first to prevent any electrical shocking. Then have someone turn the key to start the car. You should hear a clunking sound, and the engine may crank. The voltmeter should read 12 volts. If it does not read 12 volts, the solenoid is not sending electricity to the starter motor. The solenoid may need to be either replaced or rebuilt by a mechanic. If the solenoid clicks when you turn the key in the ignition but the motor won't turn, the current may be flowing through the solenoid coils, but not its main contacts. Connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the motor terminal of the solenoid, taking care to ground the negative wire. If you get no voltage when you turn the key, the solenoid is defective and needs to either be repaired or replaced. 4 Get the starter motor replaced if, after checking the ignition switch, battery, battery connections, wiring, and the solenoid, you find nothing wrong or if you replace them and the vehicle still isn't starting. Tips & Warnings You can also check the ignition switch by connecting a remote start switch between the battery's positive terminal and the switch terminal of the starter solenoid. If it starts the engine, record the voltage while the engine is cranking and compare it with the first voltage reading you did with the ignition switch. If it is +/- more than 1 volt, then the ignition switch circuit is the culprit. Always take caution when measuring electrical devices to ensure that you do not accidentally electrocute yourself or others. ResourcesAuto Car Manual
Kia . How to Troubleshoot Electrical Problems in Trailer LightsWired through a connector to corresponding lights on the towing vehicle, trailers lights typically experience problems at this connection point. Connectors vary and can range from four to seven terminals. The typical four terminal connector used on small trailers provides tail, left turn and brake, right turn and brake and a ground return. Larger connectors can add electric brakes, backup lights and 12 volts for accessories. Most wiring problems occur at the connectors or where the wire connects to the light. Other areas to watch are where the wiring flexes, such as on a trailer with a tilting bed. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Volt-ohm meterNo Lights Working Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the trailer connector and check the continuity between the ground terminal on the vehicle connector and the vehicle chassis using the volt ohm meter. Typically the ground wire is the white wire on the connector and is often connected to a reversed direction terminal on the connector. If there is no continuity, replace the wire between vehicle chassis ground and the connector. 2 Check continuity between the ground terminal on the trailer connector and the trailer chassis. As in step one, the ground wire is usually the white wire on the connector and it is often connected to a reversed direction terminal on the connector. If there is no continuity, replace the wire between the trailer chassis and the connector. 3 Clean the exposed terminals on the vehicle and trailer connectors using fine sandpaper or a pencil eraser. Be sure to wipe the terminals to remove any debris after cleaning. Restoring the ground connection should fix the situation if all lights are not working. Single Light Not Working Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the trailer connector and check continuity between the nonworking light and trailer chassis ground. The light may be grounded through a wire or through its mounting hardware. If so, make sure there is no dirt or paint under the mounting hardware. The light's ground also may be hard-wired to the ground on the trailer connector. If there is no continuity, repair the light's ground connection. 2 Turn on the vehicle light corresponding to the nonworking light on the trailer. Check the vehicle connector for 12 volts on the terminal for that light. Typical wire colors are right turn and brake: green; left turn and brake: yellow; tail and markers: brown; backup: purple. If 12 volts are not present, troubleshoot the vehicle wiring. 3 Check continuity between the trailer connector and the nonworking light. Trailer wiring is typically the same colors as noted in Step 2. If there is no continuity, replace the wire between the nonworking light and the trailer connector. Tips & Warnings Many trailer lights are grounded through the mounting hardware. If the light is mounted to plastic instead of the metal trailer chassis, it will not work and a ground wire must be added. Be sure to check vehicle fuses and for possible trailer mounted fuses. Do not work on the wiring while power is applied to the circuit. A 12 volt spark can ignite flammable fumes or liquids on the vehicle or trailer. The ignition coil The ignition coil (see Figure 5-11) transforms the relatively small amount of electrical voltage (12 to 14 volts) that it receives from the battery into a big enough jolt of voltage (15,000 to 60,000 volts) to jump the spark plug gap. On most cars, a set of spark plug wires (sometimes called ignition cables) carries the high voltage to each spark plug. A distributorless system has an electronic coil module that does the same thing (refer to Figure 5-10). The spark pluqs The spark plugs (see Figure 5-12) deliver the spark of voltage to the combustion chamber just when the fuel/air mixture is at the point of greatest compression. The resulting explosion provides the power to propel your vehicle. Chapter 12 tells you how to "read" your spark plugs for clues as to how your car is running and provides instructions for removing, gapping, and replacing spark plugs. .
